Mindopenerz

Are you an Indigo?

Indigo children is the name given to the new type of human being born in this generation. Displaying amazing feats of intuition and intelligence beyond their years, these indigos has begun more of a common concept within our lexicon.

This list is developed by play therapist Jan Yordy , a former elementary school teacher and child counselor who’s been working with parents and children for 25 years.

As we go over the list, see if you resonate with any of these traits::

1. May be strong willed independent thinkers who prefer to do their own thing rather than comply with authority figures/parents

2. Have a wisdom and level of caring beyond their youthful experience

3. Traditional Parenting and discipline strategies don’t appear effective with these children. If you try to force an issue, a power struggle is the typical outcome.

4. Energeticly, Indigos are vibrating at a much higher frequencey so they can get scrambled by negative energy (human or machine)

5. Emotionally they can be reactive and may have problems with anxieties, depression or temper rages if not energetically balanced

6. Are creative right brain thinkers, but may struggle to learn in a traditional left brain school system

“Happiness is really a deep harmonious inner satisfaction and approval.” ~Francis Wilshire

It is only in the last few years of my life that I have felt genuinely happy and comfortable in my own skin.

Until my early thirties the dominant feeling I carried around with me was one of extreme social awkwardness. Which is strange, because most people who knew me prior to that time would have described me as a confident guy who got on with just about everybody.

I’m aware that outwardly I was very skilful at presenting a positive and socially pleasing demeanor, while on the inside feeling anxious and exhausted from keeping up the act.

This wasn’t just at work or at parties, it was rife in my closest relationships too—with my friends, my family and, most bizarrely, with my fiancée.

Perhaps the reason I was so well liked by so many is because I would agree with just about everything anyone said, so I was no bother to them. In disputes, I’d take both sides. I was always the first to offer a hand when someone needed help, but not because I felt charitable; I just wanted them to like me more.

If I got angry or frustrated, which I did often, you would never have known it. You would have seen someone who appeared unflappable, regardless of the circumstances. If I was hurt, let down or disappointed, my lightening reflex was to smile and say, “That’s okay!”

Somewhere along the line I had developed the philosophy that my happiness was dependent on theapproval of others.

This meant that my level of contentment was proportionate to how pleased I thought others were with me moment to moment. Of course, the problem was that I rarely thought they approved of me enough, so I was rarely happy.

Now that I think about it, some of my earliest memories involve me trying extremely hard to be a “good boy,” to do what I was told, and how lonely it felt to fall out of favor with my parents.

I never thought about what I wanted from life, only what would make others want to have me around.

The ultimate price I paid was my authenticity, which I now know is fundamental to a truly satisfying and fulfilling life. Not only is authenticity vital for your relationships with others, but more importantly for your relationship with yourself.

TheRawStory

Research published online May 14 in Social Psychological and Personality Science has uncovered that marijuana buffers people from experiencing social pain.

“Prior work has shown that the analgesic acetaminophen, which acts indirectly through CB1 receptors, reduces the pain of social exclusion. The current research provides the first evidence that marijuana also dampens the negative emotional consequences of social exclusion on negative emotional outcomes,” Timothy Deckman of the University of Kentucky and his colleagues wrote in the study.

The four-part study, which included a total of 7040 participants and three methodologies, was based on previous research that found an overlap between physical and social pain. Acetaminophen, which is used in over-the-counter medications like Tylenol, has been found toreduce physical and social pain.

Aceteminophen and marijuana both affect cannabinoid 1 (CB1) receptors in the brain and both drugs are used to treat physical pain.

For their first two studies, the researchers examined cross-sectional data from major national surveys. The first study used data from the National Comorbidity Study and found marijuana users who reported being lonely had higher levels of self-worth and mental health than non-marijuana users who reported being lonely.

The second study used data from the National Comorbidity Survey Replication. This second analysis found those used marijuana relatively frequently and experienced social pain were less likely to experience a major depressive episode during the past 12 months.

The third study employed a longitudinal design. The researchers surveyed high school students regarding loneliness, lifetime marijuana use, and depression. The same students were surveyed again two years later. The study found that marijuana use predicted lower levels of depression among students who were lonely. For students who were not lonely, however, marijuana had little impact on depression.

(NaturalNews) Days ago it was announced that European researchers had discovered a breakthrough cure for grey and thinning hair: A topical application of a sun-activated

(NaturalNews) Days ago it was announced that European researchers had discovered a breakthrough cure for grey and thinning hair: A topical application of a sun-activated compound called PC-KUS (a modified pseudocatalase). However, the researchers may be a few hundred years late with their discovery since onion juice has been used as a remedy for thin and greying hair for ages.

What the researchers found was that grey hair is primarily caused by a buildup of hydrogen peroxide at the root of hair follicles and that this was due in great part to a reduction in the natural antioxidant compound catalase. In addition to helping cleanse the scalp and follicles, onion juice also promotes the production of catalase. Catalase prevents grey hair as well as promoted thicker hair follicles.

The researchers “new” breakthrough appears to be the rediscovery of a remedy for grey hair and baldness that herbalists have known for centuries: Onion juice. Hundreds of years ago, famed herbalist John Gerard (1545- 1612) wrote: “the juyce of onions annointed upon a bald head in the sun bringeth the hair againe very speedily.” Today, many herbalists recommend onion juice either singly or in combination with other natural items as a remedy for grey and thinning hair.

What the research found

The new research, which was published in The FASB Journal, also found that the modified catalase compound also works for the skin condition vitiligo (a skin pigment condition marked by loss of skin color). Reported study author Karin U. Schallreuter, M.D. from the Institute for Pigmentary Disorders:

“To date, it is beyond any doubt that the sudden loss of the inherited skin and localized hair color can affect those individuals in many fundamental ways. The improvement of quality of life after total and even partial successful repigmentation has been documented.”

In 2009, a similar breakthrough for grey hair was reported which also found that hydrogen peroxide buildup was a culprit and that the compound catalase could reverse grey hair. That research was conducted by Bradford University in the UK.

Other natural solutions for grey hair

Over the years, many remedies for grey hair have been used with mixed results. Some of the better known ones include:

The oriental remedy fo-ti has a long history of being used for grey hair. Fo-ti is also called he shou wu, which translates to “black-haired Mr. He” or “Mr. He’s black hair”.

Black Strap molasses has worked well for many people for restoration of color, but it may take some time (as is true with other remedies as well).

Pine needle tea is another remedy which has been used to help with greying hair.

Many have reported that moringa leaf and moringa root extracts have restored hair color as well as helped with thinning hair.

Nutrition for hair health

As is true for the entire body, good nutrition is essential for healthy hair. The best diet for hair health is a wholesome diet which is rich in silica, B-vitamins, omega-3s, protein, calcium and iron. Other important nutrients include antioxidants, trace minerals and vitamin A.

Some of the best foods for hair health include:

• Oats
• Sweet rice and mochi (pounded sweet rice)
• Nuts and seeds
• Leafy, green vegetables
• Root vegetables, such as carrots, rutabagas, parsnips, ginger, turnips, and onions
• Winter squash
• Black beans
• Pumpkin
• Black pepper
• Brown rice syrup
• Seaweed
• Microalgae

Foods to avoid for better hair health:

• Cold foods and drinks
• Sugary foods and drinks
• Fatty foods
• Animal protein
• Tofu
• Salt

by Elizabeth Renter

If you are a gardener, you may have heard of or even used diatomaceous earth. It’s most commonly known as a non-toxic pesticide. But, its uses go far beyond sprinkling in your soil. As a matter of fact, diatomaceous earth can be used for everything from flea and tick prevention on your pets to healthier skin and as a heavy metal detox for you.

Diatomaceous earth (DE) is the pulverized fossils of single-celled organisms called diatoms. These micro-organisms exist in water and when they die, they float to the bottom, accumulating and fossilizing to become DE. Though it was obscure at one time, you can usually find DE at most health food stores, stores like Home Depot, or online.

DE is rich in minerals with about 85% amorphous silica and 20 trace minerals, according to NaturalNews. The silica is reportedly responsible for reducing the signs of aging, even reducing the appearance of age spots and improving skin elasticity.

You can use diatomaceous earth internally by mixing a few tablespoons in liquid or with your food. It won’t dissolve completely, so putting it in a thick juice or smoothie might be preferable. Taken daily, DE may help with:

Reducing inflammation and pain in joints

Improving skin and hair texture

Lowering blood pressure

Lowering “bad” cholesterol

Removing heavy metals like mercury, lead, and cadmium from the body

Detoxifying the digestive system of parasites

When you first begin using DE, you may experience constipation, so be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day. Also, make sure you are using a high quality food grade diatomaceous earth product, as there are also many industrial grade versions available.

DE’s pest control benefits also make it good to use on pet fleas and ticks as well as lice in humans. Just be certain you and your pets do not inhale the dust as you apply it.

Important: Industrial grade diatomaceous earth should never be inhaled, as it has highly crystallized form of silica that could pose health risks. It would also be wise to where a mask when using food-grade DE externally, as it could still cause irritation. Once the dust settles, it does not pose a threat. Diatomaceous earth can also cause dry skin.

Did you know that flowers and bees communicate with one another about the amount and quality of pollen available using bioelectromagnetics?

The Communication Between Bees and Flowers

In a recent study from the University of Bristol and published in Science Express, scientists put electromagnetic detectors in flowers’ pollinators to watch the great romance of spring and determine if electrical signals given off by both bee and flower aided in communication. They also watched bee behavior to observe some interesting findings.

What scientists discovered is that flowers tell bees specific information, including how much pollen they have, if another bee has visited them recently, and what type of flower they are. Flowers and bees communicate effectively to aid bees in the work they do.

Nature is probably more honest than the person you met at a bar last week or the latest update to a romantic interests’ online dating profile, because the flower ‘knows’ that a bee won’t visit them if they don’t provide nectar or pollen, and so they use positive reinforcement through electromagnetic signals to help draw the bee in – aside from their bright colors, exotic petals and heady perfumes. They always tell the truth about what they have to offer.

Researchers at the University of Bristol also discovered that bumblebees can distinguish different types of flowers with more discernment utilizing floral electric fields. When bees land on a flower, an electric charge helps the bee and flower ‘talk’ to one another. This electric relationship is not entirely understood by researchers just yet, as scientists don’t’ know exactly how bees (or flowers) detect electrical fields.

Altogether, these tests suggest that the electrical fields that build up on bees due to their flight or movement are stimuli that could be used in social communication, according to the Proceedings of the Royal Society – Biological Sciences.

It is possible that their antennae pick up an electrical charge and communicate to certain brain centers, not unlike the way human beings communicate (mostly subconsciously) through their own electromagnetic fields. In many cases, Kirlian photography can measure the aura, or electromagnetic field of the body. Meditation is also said to widen and improve the electromagnetic field of the body. Neurobiologists are still trying to figure out how our ‘energy’ body talks to everything around it.

Bees have what are called Johnston’s organs, a special organ located at the base of their antennae, but even when antennae were removed, they could still sense an electric charge from flowers. Is our antennae akin to the pineal gland?

When bees do their ‘waggle’ dance too, they may be communicating more than with just their physical bodies. It’s something to keep in mind the next time you are trying to woo your next mate. Perhaps your bad luck is not just your dancing after all.

Few people are able or ready to grow their own food. With food prices rising and the dollar shrinking, it’s a good idea to know what to buy and where. The first thing to realize is eating solely for taste or convenience while eating out often are the wrong approaches. But eating healthy on a budget is quite possibly more important than ever, and it’s best to start right now.

Allocating serious shopping time for some trial and error to determine where the best deals are is necessary. If you have more than one health food store available, learn which ones offer better deals on specific items and keep up with their sales fliers.

Cooperatives or co-ops usually charge an annual membership fee to get the better deals. You’ll have to decide if it’s worth it. You may be surprised that sometimes the pricier stores will have better deals on some items than the less expensive stores.

If you think you cannot spend the money for quality, organic foods, add up all your eating out expenses and the chips and dips and other processed yummy food and snack expenditures. Processed foods have unhealthy additives that make you eat more. These eating and snacking habits can add up to an expense greater than buying whole organic foods and preparing them from

It’s not likely that you are the victim of arsenic poisoning. But the average modern lifestyle could put you in contact with heavy metals through your food, the air you breathe, and the water you drink—not to mention the products you use in your home. These heavy metals can do significant damage to your body over time. Luckily there are completely natural ways to expel these metals from your body and therefore prevent the damage they are capable of causing.

Heavy metal chelation is often marketed as some major undertaking that requires bottles of various supplements and several days of free time to dedicate to the process. And while significant heavy metal contamination may warrant such an approach, your body can handle heavy metal removal with just some simple additions to your diet and lifestyle.

Drink Water

Firstly, stay hydrated. No toxins will be removed if you don’t provide the vehicle for them to exit on. In other words, water is the ultimate purifier and should be your first line against toxins of all kinds. Make sure your water is purified and free of fluoride and chlorine whenever possible. And don’t wait until you are thirsty to drink water; drink it when you first wake, with meals, throughout the day, and before bed. Drink water when you exercise and when you relax. Basically, drink it all the time.

Include these Specific Foods in Your Diet

Next, include foods that are naturally good at heavy metal chelation. I profiled six of them here in 6 Foods for Natural Heavy Metal Chelation. Foods like garlic, onion, and cilantro naturally bind with heavy metals to remove them from the body. Amino acids found in eggs and fish are particularly good to balance enzymes in the liver, crucial to detoxification. Charcoal is another good source of chelating benefits.

Omit these Specific Foods

Change what you eat. High fructose corn syrup often has high levels of mercury. If you are still eating processed foods that contain HFCS, it’s high time you stopped. Consumer reports also points to fitness protein shakes as a common source of heavy metals. But even things like non-organic produce, wines, and canned foods can be contaminated with heavy metals.

As with any unhealthy foods or toxins, you must pay attention to both what you take in and what you expel. From eating the right foods to practicing hydration and other methods to eliminate toxins, there are several naturally simple ways to reduce your exposure to heavy metals.

by Elizabeth Renter

In the scientific world, nothing is truly fact until it has undergone significant testing with rigorous standards. Try and tell a scientist that results in rats are “good enough” and you’ll be laughed at. Really, randomized, double-blind placebo studies are considered solid. They are done on humans and done in such a way as to reduce the chances of results being nothing more than an anomaly. I say all of this to introduce a new study showcasing how ginger truly is a cancer-fighting food, a study that couldn’t get much better.

Ginger Proves to be a Useful Cancer Treatment Once Again

For the study, which was published in the PubMed journal of the National Institute of Health, scientists with Atlanta’s Emory University used a group of 20 people who were considered high risk for colorectal cancer. The patients were randomly placed in two groups, 10 who would receive ginger and 10 who would receive a placebo.

As PF Louis with NaturalNews points out, “This double blind study approach is a rather cruel hoax for the placebo subjects while using non-toxic medicines. But they insist on this protocol and others that torture animals so they can accept it as evidence based research.”

Those who received the ginger took only 2 grams of ginger for 28 days. They were then rigorously tested for markers that indicate high risk of colorectal cancer. Biopsies were taken and blood work was done. What the scientists found was those who took ginger were significantly better than those who didn’t.

The scientists admitted, “ginger may reduce proliferation in the normal-appearing colorectal epithelium (lining) and increase apoptosis and differentiation relative to proliferation.” What does this mean? Basically, that ginger can increase cancer cell death and reduce the spread of cancer cells.

This isn’t the first study to portray ginger’s cancer-fighting abilities. Another study found ginger to reduce prostate tumor size by 56% in mice. Sure, the study wasn’t done on humans, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they wouldn’t be reproduced.

So, do we need to wait for more research to start reaping the cancer-preventing benefits of ginger? Hardly. Ingesting two grams of ginger is easy when you can use it in tea, smoothies, and a variety of culinary creations.
