‘Amazon’s warehouses are now swarming with 45,000 robots. That’s a 300 percent increase from 2014, when the company had just 15,000. In 2012, Amazon bought Boston-based robotics company Kiva Systems in 2012 for $775 million. They created the orange bots that zoom around the warehouse floors. Amazon also uses automation like robotic arms to lift heavy pallets.
